Michael was born to a huge family on August 29th, 1958. He had three sisters (Rebbie,
La Toya, and Janet) and five brothers (Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, Tito and Randy). He
was the third youngest with Randy and Janet both being younger. The Jacksons were
poor and lived in a small house with just two bedrooms for eleven people when he was
a kid, Michael, along with his siblings, performed as a local song and dance act.
Dubbed The Jackson Brothers, this family band performed on TV and radio in the area,
soon gaining huge exposure in USA. They expanded the band’s path, Rebranded in
new appeal for the fans, and were soon calling themselves The Jackson 5.
Under Motown Records, Michael was quickly the rising star of the group, dominating its
vocal parts and standing out due to his fantastic and stylish dance steps. After a set of
hits, the band left Motown Records in the mid1970s, and Michael came out to build his
own career, searching for success as a solo artist. He certainly found it. Working with
Sony Music (Epic Records), he released Off The Wall in 1979, an album with numerous
hits and radio favorites. Searching for a historic release, his next album was One Day
in Your Life, he released it on 1981, and then he started completing the legendary
Thriller album with the same record label (Epic Records). Thriller went on to become
the world’s highest selling album in history, marking more than 32 million copies sold.
Thriller won eight Grammy Awards in 1984, including for Album of the Year
